I apply it to dry skin as recommended, and it melts away my makeup, sunscreen, and daily buildup without any harsh rubbing. Even stubborn mascara breaks down easily. Once I rinse with warm water, my skin feels clean but never tight or stripped. That’s been a huge win for me, especially since many cleansers leave my skin feeling dry. The plant-derived squalane really makes a difference. My skin feels soft, smooth, and comfortably hydrated after every wash. Love it as a shaving balm

The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser was provided complimentary from The Ordinary. It is designed to be used on dry skin. The product goes directly on hands and rubbing them together will help it turn into a cleansing oil. The product melts into skin to help remove makeup and grime. After that you rinse it off with warm water. It can also be used as a face / body shaving balm which is what I prefer. It's moisturizing and helps the razor glide across skin without tugging. It's a personal texture-issue that makes me dislike using it on my face, but it makes the perfect shaving cream.

Not a typical cleanser

I bought this in store based on several recommendations. This is not a typical cleanser and just a makeup remover. Sephora's website lists it as a make up remover however in the store, it was listed as just a cleanser. I was very dissapointed because I was out of town and grabbed this when I needed a regular facial cleanser. If you are looking for a make up remover, this would be great! If you want something that will actually clean your skin, SKIP. My skin still felt oily after using this product.
