Starlit Pink - similar but not the same
I have worn Starlit Pink from when it was in the All Day Lipstick range in the elegant fluted case. It was a vintage colour but so incredibly flattering - the perfect light fuchsia with a golden underglow. It flattered cool and warm toned skins. It was perfect! It instantly woke the face up, made teeth look whiter and it lasted forever. I was so disappointed when it was discontinued. I was so happy to see the colour re-introduced and ordered a tube in the Hi Lustre range. The casing is elegant with a satisfactory 'click' and feels luxurious like the old case. I love how they have kept echoes of the old case by keeping the fluting on the lipstick bullet. It glides on easily just as the old formula did, no feathering, lightweight and comfortable, minimizing lip lines with a wash of satin colour. I love it BUT it isn't quite the same colour as in its previous incarnation. This one is more blue toned and raspberry pink. It lacks the warmth of the original. It is still and exceptionally pretty colour for fair skins but it has lost a bit of its beauty and its golden undertone. For that reason, I give it 4 stars. I have swatched the original All Day Starlit pink (above in picture) and the newer Hi Lustre Starlit Pink (lower in picture? In daylight to show the difference in tone. The original was so beautiful, fresh and flattering across the range of skin tones that it is a shame that Estee Lauder do not bring back the exact colour. Still a lovely product but Starlit Pink has lost some its shine.

I was so disappointed when Lauder discontinued this shade, I'd worn it for over 10 years. So I'm very please they have seen sense and brought some of the old favorites back. Doesn't last as long as the Re Nutriv All Day version, but still great staying power. I found it slightly drying compared to the old version, but then again, I'm 70 years old now. Thank you Lauder for relauching, and please don't try to mend something thats not broken.
