Great stuff - really works

I built up to this strength over a few months. After several months I noticed it had removed some dark spots I had for a few years. My skin seems to look much younger and less wrinkled. I wear factor 50 sunscreen every day now and have stopped using this for the summer. I’m very pleased and have great clear glowing skin at 71

No effect whatsoever

Absolutely none. I was prepared for the not-amazing oily texture and it's not *that bad*, and I would have made my peace with it if it worked. But after over 3.5 months now, I've seen no improvement in my skin whatsoever, as well as no reaction in my skin that would tell me that there is retinol in the product. My face saw some weaker retinol products before, but my neck never has, and so I started slathering this on my neck as well, starting immediately with every day application, and nothing. No flaking, redness, etc. I think I may have somehow gotten a bottle of just squalane? And yes, I kept it in my fridge, religiously.

I have been using Retinol 1% in squalene for almost 3 months. I am very satisfied and happy. I am 55 years old and I regret that I have only just discovered it. I have several other cosmetics of this company and I will stay that way. I recommend this product 🙂

Prefferred the old formula in a tube

I saw more results with the old silcone based formula in a tube. This one is too greasy and oily.

Not working for me

I bought this 3 weeks ago and I haven't seen much changes.

I forgot to refrigerate as instructed.

It works very well for me but I forgot to refrigerate after opening as instructed. A few weeks have passed by. Is it safe to refrigerate now and continue use or I have to discontinue use and get another one. Thanks.

Acne holy grail

I have no idea why this isn't marketed as an acne product because it has done wonders for me. Currently going through second puberty and both of my siblings were on acutane for their intensely bad acne. I get wake up with a bad breakout wash my face and put this on before bed and wake up with clear skin. It is an essential part of my routine now.

I will definitely be buying more

This serum is really really good and it gives a bright youthful look. I use it once every 3 night and it is potent enough to do the job. A little goes a long way so it last for a while. Trust me it does what it says. I will definitely continue use and I hope the product is never discontinued. Thank you Ordinary.

Wonderful product

I have been using this now for about 5 weeks. Within the first week I noticed my skin was remarkably smoother. I had been using Paula’s choice retinol for a couple of years and never received half the results that I have from the Ordinary retinol. I’ll be a user forever! Price point is amazing as well!

I am 33 and am extremely fair-skinned. I have splotchy, red undertones and fine line wrinkles that bother me. I finally decided it was time I actually started and stuck to a skincare routine but I didn’t want to go crazy. I started using a store-bought cream face wash with Vitamin C (nothing with salicylic acid or anything drying/harsh) a few years ago. It kept my skin clean but didn’t really do anything else. I finally decided to start using Retinol and purchased The Ordinary’s 1% and the results are incredible. I started out using it only twice per week and worked my way up to about 5x per week now (I typically don’t use it during the weekends as I’m outside in the sun). So many people at work have commented on my skin/complexion and have asked me what I’m doing differently. My redness is hardly there at all anymore and my skin is so smooth now and the fine lines look like they’ve diminished. It’s been six months and I am ecstatic with the results. And it is so cost-friendly too. My routine literally involves my Vitamin C facewash, The Ordinary Retinol, and the HA moisturizer. Three steps only and it’s worked wonders for me thus far. This will forever be part of my routine now!
