Every other hair oil I've used has helped to make my often dry ends feel smoother but would leave my hair greasy feeling after a day. Shu Uemura is a different story! Not only do my dry ends feel and look more sleek and soft but, my hair doesn't feel greasy or look gross. This will absolutely be repurchased!

Built up is good and my ends look incredible healthy. The best past is give to my hair a nice shine without the grease. Even is good to use in day three for a little refresh after my dry shampoo. Totally recommend it!

I also feel it prevents spilt ends which is a big deal. Use a tiny amount - rub in you palms and lightly touch to the hair. Smells incredible too.

Good, but I expected more...

I’ve been using the Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Hair Oil for about two weeks now, and I have mixed feelings. The biggest positive is that it’s not greasy at all. It absorbs nicely and doesn’t weigh my hair down, which I really like. It does make my hair look shinier and smoother, but I noticed that happening when I style my hair with hot tools and not immediately after application. I’ve used other oils that instantly change the texture of my hair and make my ends feel noticeably softer right away. With this one, the effect feels more subtle. For the price, I expected something a little more transformative. It’s not a bad product, but I personally don’t think it’s worth the price tag compared to other oils that deliver stronger results.

I have noticed a huge difference in my hair staying tame through out the day. It also smells really nice and light on my hair. It comes in a nice glass jar with a nice pump to dispense it.

This is gold in oil form!

First of all, the scent is soft, elegant, and gives expensive spa day vibes without being overpowering. Every time I use it, I feel like I should be walking through a slow motion hair commercial. The texture is silky and lightweight, and this is not one of those oils that makes your hair look like you accidentally deep fried it. A pump, or even half a pump for fine hair, melts right in and leaves hair glossy, smooth, and touchably soft. It gives instant shine without greasiness, tames frizz beautifully, makes dry ends look revived, adds heat protection, and a little truly goes a long way. It works perfectly on damp hair before blow drying or on dry hair for a polished finish. My ends look healthier, my hair feels softer, and it gives that effortless I woke up like this glow even when I absolutely did not.
