Pros and Seasonal Cons of a Great Product

Purchased this in June 2025 and used it by itself or with Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan. During the summer, it worked great! I live in a hot humid climate and used it by itself on many days - loved the lightweight texture and so easy to pour in your hand and pat it on. Once the weather turned colder and drier, I started breaking out and peeling and my skin was really flushed. I always use a lightweight moisturizer during our mild winters, so thinking the irritation was related to this product. Looked up all the ingredients and it seems that both glycerin and propanediol may cause what I was experiencing. From a site re: glycerin: As a humectant, glycerin draws water from the nearest source. Especially in low humidity conditions, the nearest source of water is the lower levels of your skin. This can dehydrate the skin, even to the point of blistering. And several sites note that propanediol can cause the redness and breakouts I was experiencing, but it sounds like it's in a low percentage of people. From other reviews on this site, it seems that a few others were experiencing similar symptoms, so just wanted to offer a possible explanation related to my use in the winter. Unfortunately, I cannot use a heavy moisturizer due to my skin type, but once it turns warmer, I will start using the product again!

Great product but I'm allergic

The product is excellent as a toner and is slightly hydrating. However I am allergic to something in it, as daily use causes contact dermatitis. So I use it just a couple of times a week.

Doesnt hydrate but sting your face

I have been ordinary loyal customer for more than 6 years! This is the only one that i have to leave bad review! Sting and irritate my face and caused red patches! I thought it suppose to hydrate ant wont cause any skin barrier problem instead should help the serum absorb better in our skin. It not only does nothing but cause my face becomes sensitive, i am so so so disappointed!

Love the look and feel!

I purchased this about a month ago and absolutely love it! I use it after cleansing my face and sometimes feel that it's all I need. Very hydrating and love how my face looks and feels afterwards. However, my other go to's are the niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. I am definitely keeping this in my regimen and definitely recommend.

SO GOOD makes my skin REFLECTIVE and my products absorb soo much better it even helped clear my skin by making my acne products penetrate wayyy better

I've read the negative comments and decided to try this product anyway. I've used it for 3 weeks and I'm impressed. My skin looks smooth and hydrated. I seldom wear makeup anymore, so I'm delighted to see how nice my complexion looks without any artificial enhancement. I'll buy this product again!

Ordinary, what are you doing?

Well, reading all these FAKE reviews makes me regret buying it... The overuse of certain words (like "lighweight formula", "glowy skin") in those reviews is just revolting. They all contain a lot of words, but really say nothing about the product. Srsly Ordinary, what is going on with your brand?

Loooooveeee

I’ve been using this now for a few months and absolutely love it. I love how light it feels, how hydrating it feels and how the rest of my serums go on afterwards. It is definitely one of my essential skin care products now.

Underwhelming, no effect scene

I really wanted to love this product. There are thin watery serums that I have loved, but I honestly can't tell that this one is doing anything. Considering it is neither giving me the hydration of a creamy milky essence, nor do I see any increase in the absorption of my other serums, it feels useless. I'm glad for other people who are finding it to be helpful, but as someone who's been at the skin care game a long time and tried hundreds of products, this did not wow me.

Skin feels smoother and looks brighter

This is a new addition to my routine, along with the niacinamide and zinc serum. Using this first as recommended and the new serums do seem to have made a difference
