Gets moldy

I bought this product at the end of June and was so excited! For the first two or three uses, it was fabulous and I have no complaints, except I wish it lasted just a little bit longer. I have had this product for almost 2 months and used it maybe seven or eight times, and it has started smelling awful and moldy. A very mildew type smell and I have no idea why. So sad because I did like the color, but I can’t even stand to uncap it anymore.

Wouldn’t recommend

I bought this product last month with high hopes, it was nice at the beginning but i noticed it didn’t really last as the product claims, it didn’t matter to me but what has bothered me the most is the smell of mold from the sponge

Smells - I had to return two of these. They go funky after about five days!

The shades are beautiful but does not last like it advertises.

Do not buy

I very rarely leave reviews, but this product was bad enough to warrant one. As others mentioned, after a few uses it began to smell like mildew. The applicator is a fabric-like material and it smells exactly how you'd expect a wet rag to smell after being left in a closed container. It also caused a reaction on my lips that feels like a mild chemical burn. This product should be recalled.

Smells bad

The applicator is not precise and after just a couple wears, it started to smell bad. Unfortunately, I could not return since it was after 30 days. The colors are nice but not worth it given everything else.

The color is pretty but I started to notice this horrible smell . I realized its the lip stain. I would have returned it but its past the 30 days. what a waste of money I washed it and I don't cap it so I can at least get something out of it.

Horrible smell

I really love the color, and it stays better than most other lip stains I’ve had. But after a week or two of using it, it has a horrible rancid smell when applied. I’ve tried to keep using it, but it feels borderline unhealthy

Smell is horrible

I loved this at first, but after a few weeks it was hard to get product out. I actually had to throw it away this morning as the smell turned nauseating. Not worth it to only use a few times.

The nasty smell of this product is overwhelming. It’s so bad I cannot use it. Very disappointed.

Disappointed – Unusable Due to Smell and Taste

I honestly thought I had received a defective product until I started reading other reviews. The color and lasting power of the lip stain are great—but the taste and smell are absolutely awful. It was so strong and unpleasant that I couldn't bring myself to use it more than a couple of times. I ended up throwing it out within a week. It’s shocking that something with such an overpowering scent could make it through quality control. Unfortunately, I won’t be repurchasing, and this experience has definitely made me question trying other Tarte products in the future.
