Caution!

I received a generous sample of this, I loved the smell and it felt good. Until my face was red, and hot and extremely itchy. I am an esthetician and usually very cautious what I put on my skin-once I read the ingredients I knew why I was having this reaction. Please be aware that lots of essential oils in a skin care product can trigger bad reactions. There are a ton of irritants in this product. I am day 3 after trying this and still red and irritated.

Must have for my acne prone skin

I have been using this product for several years, and keep going back to it. I have acne prone skin, and works wonders to soothe the skins irritation. Makes my skin feel so nice! Absolutely love.

Underwhelming and overpriced

The packaging is sooo silly for such a big price point, the applicator is too short to reach the product. Also the amount of product you have to use to get an even application across the face makes this a terrible value. Lastly, didn’t notice a difference in using it.

La Mer The Concentrate Serum

Smells horrible. Didn't feel the product was high quality enough to justify the high price or the terrible scent. Will NOT repurchase.

I used SK2 pitera essence for several years. It worked very well until I reached 35. I always love La Mer products. I decided to give this serum a try. Just a few days my skin started to feel great again. I am very happy about this product.

I love this stuff - first tried a sample and after noticing the impact it had on my fine lines had to spend the money. Just took off a star since the price is so high!!

Everything you would hope it'd be!

I got a small sample of this, and while I've tried other La Mer products, this definitely lives up to its name. I was never really sold on other La Mer products, but this is hands down luxurious. It makes your skin feel so smooth and flawless. I wish I could use this in my normal routine, but due to the price, I'll settle for the occasional sample. If this is within your price point, or you're willing to splurge, go for it- you will not be disappointed!

Incision healing MUST

I read somewhere this would help with healing scars after surgery. I had a planned surgery coming up that was going to leave a large scar that would likely be permanently thick and discolored. It would not fade to a thin red line like most scars. My expectations were low, especially because my plastic surgeon told me there wasn't anything typical that would help. As soon as I was told I could use lotions on the incision for itching and tightness I started using the concentrate several times a day. I only used enough product to cover the applicator spatula inside the cover, a very small amount. I used the concentrate until it was gone, about 8 months. Know what else is gone?? The scar!! It's practically invisible, to the point that it's not even noticeable. I did not use it on my face so I can not speak to that, but for incision healing it was beyond anything I could have imagined. Even my surgeon was surprised by the results. For this purpose it was extremely effective and worth every penny!!

After years of use, no more

Have used this for a few years, and finally gave up on the terrible packaging. The plastic applicator isn't long enough to reach all the product, and even if you go to the beauty counter at your favorite department store to get the extra long applicator, you still end up wasting a ton of product. I thought maybe the largest size would be worth it, but I just ended up feeling more frustrated at having spent that much money on product I couldn't reach to use. I've tried extra long q-tips, the extra long applicator, and even considered breaking the bottle open. There's still a couple weeks worth of product in the bottom every time. At this price, you'd think they could come up with better package design and less waste. As for the product, itself, it has smoothing and soothing properties that kept me buying it despite the packaging. It's a good complement to isotretinoin, since it does seem to reduce redness and irritation. That said, the smoothing properties are the result of dimethicone, so if you use any other dimethicone products, like primers, it's prone to pilling. I've started using a (much, much cheaper) hyaluronic acid product instead, and my skin seems just as happy. Now I regret all those years throwing money at this one. I'd recommend getting the smallest size to try this if you feel compelled, and compare it to any other soothing and/or dimethicone product before investing in bigger sizes.
